Meeting
The Planning Board meets in person on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:30 PM at the Kingwood Township Municipal Building at 599 Oak Grove Rd., Frenchtown, NJ, 08825.
Purposes and Objectives
The Planning Board's statutory responsibilities are as follows:
- Prepare and adopt a master plan for the physical development of the township
Review subdivision and site plan applications
Maintain a file on municipal master plans and development regulations
- Approves C variances ancillary to subdivision, site plan and conditional use applications (N.J.S.A. 40:55D·60a).
Members
The Planning Board is composed of 9 regular members, organized into the following classes, along with up to 2 alternate members:

- Class I - Mayor or designee (1-year term).
- Class II - A municipal official usually appointed by mayor (1-year term).
- Class III - A member of governing body - appointed by it (3-year terms).
- Class IV - Citizens of municipality usually appointed by the mayor (4-year terms).
a. must contain an environmental commission member.
b. may contain a Board of Education member.
c. may contain a Zoning Board member. - Alternate - 2 alternate members shall be appointed to the Planning Board by the Mayor and shall meet the qualifications of Class IV members (2-year terms).
STATE PLANNING COMMISSION
Notice of Public Hearings
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, the State Planning Commission shall conduct six public hearings for the purpose of receiving testimony on the draft Final New Jersey’s State Development and Redevelopment Plan and the draft Infrastructure Needs Assessment pursuant to the State Planning Act at N.J.S.A. 52:18A-202(c) as set forth in the State Planning Rules at N.J.A.C. 15:30-5.2.
